Exploring Agriculture – Elsenburg and Stud Visits

The group will check out of the hotel after breakfast and embark on a scenic day exploring the Western Cape’s agricultural excellence. One group visits the University of Stellenbosch’s experimental farm, Mariendahl which adjoins the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute. The other group will visit leading Dohne Merino stud farms in Moorreesburg area (details to follow). After a delicious lunch (for both groups) at Delico in Riebeek Kasteel renowned for its top-quality meats, the groups switch venues. The day concludes with dinner and accommodation at the elegant Arabella Hotel in Kleinmond.

Farm Experience – Dohne Merino Stud Tour

The group will set off after breakfast for an enjoyable day visiting renowned Dohne Merino stud farms in the Overberg region. (details to follow). The day includes a hearty lunch and the opportunity to engage with stud owners and learn more about their breeding practices. The group will return to the Arabella Hotel in the late afternoon, where a relaxed dinner will be served to round off the day’s activities.

Discover the Overberg – Bredasdorp and Cape Agulhas

Delegates will travel through the beautiful Overberg region to Bredasdorp, where they will explore local agricultural highlights and visit the famous southernmost tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas. Late Lunch at the renowned Bientang’s Cave restaurant at the ocean’s edge, known as one of the best whale watching restaurants in the world. This day combines scenic travel with cultural and agricultarual discovery in the heart of the Western Cape.

Coastal Drive & Gordon's Bay

After Breakfast and check-out, delegates will enjoy a memorable drive via the Clarence drive – a legendary coastal drive that hugs the edge of False Bay all the way to Gordonsbay. On route we will visit a wine farm for lunch. Later, the group will return to Cape Town and check back in at Lagoon Beach Hotel where the final evenings’s dinner will feature a special wine tasting to celebrate the week’s achievements.
